Old-Fashioned Hymn Sing Planned for October 4th

There is something special about singing a familiar hymn alongside other people. These songs often hold memories of families, churches, and communities that span generations.

Chautauqua-Wawasee and Redeeming Grace Church are co-sponsoring an Old-Fashioned Hymn Sing in Syracuse, Indiana, on Sunday, October 4, at 5:00 p.m. The event will take place at Redeeming Grace Church.

The evening will feature favorite hymns accompanied by organ and piano. Guests can also request songs they would like the group to sing together.

Perhaps a hymn brings back memories of childhood. Maybe it reminds you of someone special. Or it may simply be a song you have always loved. Whatever the reason, the evening offers a chance to hear and sing those familiar hymns together.

The hymn sing will bring people from different churches, backgrounds, and generations together through music and fellowship.

For many people, hymns are more than music. Their words and melodies carry memories, traditions, comfort, and faith from one generation to the next. As a result, these familiar songs often become part of our personal and community stories.

The Old-Fashioned Hymn Sing offers a relaxed setting to share those songs with neighbors and friends. After the singing, all guests are invited to stay for popcorn, ice cream, and fellowship.
