Congresswoman Jackie Walorski to visit us on August 29, 2020

The centennial anniversary of the passing of the 19 th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution that granted women the right to vote is August 26. To celebrate this event, an Old Fashion Ice Cream Social is set with Congresswoman Jackie Walorski greeting the crowd at 11:30 on Saturday, August 29 at the Gazebo in Lakeside Park, Syracuse, Indiana. “It’s particularly fitting that a U.S. Congresswoman can join us to highlight that not only can women vote, but they now play an active role in making our laws and policies!” said Mark Knecht, President of Chautauqua-Wawasee. “We are so pleased Congresswoman Walorski is able to join us”. The Ice Cream is free, provided by Joe’s Premium Ice Cream of Syracuse.

To celebrate the centennial anniversary of women winning the decades long battle for the right to vote, a series of celebration events are being jointly sponsored by Indiana Humanities, Chautauqua-Wawasee, the Syracuse-Wawasee Historical Museum, Syracuse Public Library, Syracuse-Wawasee Chamber and Kosciusko County Visitors Commission.
