Professional Jazz musicians will be instructing local high school/middle school jazz students in this one-day work shop.  Following the workshop, there will be a concert spotlighting the instructors and students, which will be open to the public.

Instructors include:  Mark Gamble, trumpet.  Mark plays with the “Steely Dan Tribute Band”.  He has also played with Bobby Vinton, The Drifters, The Platters…and has performed at the Elkhart and South Bend Jazz Fests.

Jim Catalano, percussion.  Jim has his own band, “Vibenation”.  Jim has been very active with the Elkhart Jazz Fest, since its inception, over 30 years ago.

Jeremy Kahn, pianist.  Jeremy has his own quartet and works with Bobby Lewis, and many others.  Jeremy is very popular with the Elkhart Jazz Fest!

Raphael Crawford, trombone.  Raphael is from Chicago IL and works the “bigger” jazz spots in Chicago…Andy’s and The Green Mill, to name a few.

Darrel Tidaback, bassist.  Darrel has performed with Jim Cullem Jazz Band, as well as many others.  He also leads the IUSB Jazz Ensemble.

Bill Boris, guitar.  Bill comes from Illinois, he is the coordinator of Guitar and Bass Studies at Columbia College and is very active in the jazz scene in Chicago.

Christopher French, reeds.  Christopher is an adjunct Professor at Notre Dame and is an active performer throughout the region.
