About Chautauqua

Family values.  Family activities.  That is what Chautauqua (SHUH-tah-kwah)  is about.  Based on the original Chautauqua Institution, founded in the town of the same name in southwestern New York State in 1874.  Chautauqua-Wawasee is dedicated to the exploration of the best in human values and the enrichment of life through programs and events that educate and entertain.

The Chautauqua experience is based on engaging the public in four areas called Pillars by the Chautauqua Institution.
